AIDA

(Attention, Interest, Desire, Action)

Borrowed from marketing, AIDA helps you hook people in, get them interested, make them want it, and then tell them exactly what to do next.

How to implement

Attention
Capture the audience’s attention with a compelling headline, question, statistic, or visual.

Interest
Generate interest by highlighting the benefits and features of your topic, focusing on needs and pain points.

Desire
Create a desire for your topic by showcasing its value, demonstrating its effectiveness, and making an emotional connection with the audience.

Action
Prompt the audience to take a specific action.

Example

Attention: Are we spending too much time manually compiling sales reports every month?

Interest: I’m proposing a new automated reporting system that integrates directly with our CRM and ERP. This system can generate key sales reports in real-time, saving each team member an average of 5 hours per month.

Desire: Think about what you could do with those extra 5 hours each month – focus on strategic initiatives, spend more time with clients, or even just have a bit more breathing room. This new system will not only save us time but also provide more accurate and up-to-date insights for better decision-making.

Action: I’d like to schedule a 30-minute follow-up meeting next week to give you a live demo of the system and gather your feedback on the proposed implementation plan. Please let me know what time works best for you.
