(Situation, Behavior, Impact)
Helps you give clear and focused feedback by pinpointing the situation, describing exactly what someone did, and explaining the impact, so they really understand what happened and why it matters.
How to implement
Situation:
Describe the specific context or situation in which the behavior occurred.
Behavior:
Clearly and objectively describe the specific behavior you observed.
Impact:
Explain the effect or consequence of that behavior.
Example
”During the team meeting yesterday [Situation], I noticed that you interrupted Mary several times while she was sharing her progress report [Behavior]. This made it difficult for Mary to finish her point and made her feel unheard by the team [Impact].”
